Privacy Policy — Vine-Reviewer.com Chrome Extension

Last Updated: April 20, 2026

Overview

The Vine-Reviewer.com Chrome Extension (“the Extension”) is a browser add-on that helps Amazon Vine reviewers draft reviews more efficiently using AI. The Extension runs in your browser on specific Amazon.com Vine pages and the create-review page. It is a companion to your existing Vine-Reviewer.com account: it reuses the session cookie from vine-reviewer.com to call our backend, which generates the draft text.

What the Extension Accesses

The Extension reads only what it needs to do its job. Specifically:

  • Amazon Vine listing pages (/vine/vine-reviews on the Amazon TLDs we support) — to show your Vine-Reviewer.com stats and inject the per-item workflow buttons.
  • Amazon product-detail pages (/dp/*, /gp/product/*) — opened briefly in a hidden tab to scrape the product title and description so the AI has richer context. These hidden tabs close automatically when the scrape completes.
  • Amazon create-review pages — to inject the Generate widget, pre-fill the title and body fields on your behalf, and (optionally) flag the submission for tracking.
  • Amazon thank-you pages — to notify our backend that a review was submitted, so your Vine-Reviewer.com dashboard stays in sync.
  • Your Vine-Reviewer.com session cookie on vine-reviewer.com — reused automatically for authenticated API calls. The Extension does not create or store a separate credential.

What We Send to Our Servers

The Extension makes requests exclusively to vine-reviewer.com/api/*. The two endpoints it calls:

  • POST /api/reviews/generate — sends the product title, product description, your free-form notes, and the product ASIN. The backend returns the AI-generated review draft.
  • POST /api/reviews/track-submission — sends the ASIN and a boolean flag indicating that you submitted your review on Amazon. This lets your dashboard count completed reviews.
  • GET /api/userscript/stats — pulls your token balance and usage metrics to display on the listing-page status bar and in the extension popup.
  • GET /api/auth/login — a lightweight check so the popup can tell if you are signed in on vine-reviewer.com.

Nothing else leaves your browser. The Extension does not phone home to any other domain.

What the Extension Does NOT Collect

  • No Amazon account credentials. We never see your Amazon password.
  • No payment or billing information from Amazon.
  • No browsing history, bookmarks, cookies, or passwords outside the specific pages listed above.
  • No clipboard contents.
  • No microphone, camera, or location data.
  • No personally identifying information beyond what you already provided when creating your Vine-Reviewer.com account.
  • No analytics, telemetry, or third-party tracking scripts inside the Extension. (Analytics on vine-reviewer.com itself is governed by our main Privacy Policy.)

Third Parties

The Extension communicates with exactly one third-party service: our own backend at vine-reviewer.com (which is a first-party relationship for account holders). The Extension does not ship with analytics SDKs, advertising networks, error reporters, or any other third-party code. The AI that generates your drafts runs server-side on vine-reviewer.com; see our main Privacy Policy for the full list of subprocessors involved in that pipeline.

Local Storage

The Extension uses the browser's chrome.storage.local API to cache a few items on your device. These never leave your machine:

  • Cached product title/description, keyed by ASIN, so you do not re-scrape the same product.
  • A short-lived flag marking which ASIN you most recently submitted, used to correlate the thank-you page.
  • A 60-second cached copy of your token balance for the popup.

Clearing your browser data (or uninstalling the Extension) removes all of this.

Data Retention

Account-level data the Extension touches is retained per your Vine-Reviewer.com account settings, exactly the same way as the website. You can request deletion of your account and associated data from your dashboard. See our main Privacy Policy for more detail.

Updates to This Policy

If we change how the Extension handles data we will update this page and surface a notice on your Vine-Reviewer.com dashboard before the new behaviour ships. The Last Updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
